Motorists Lift Truck Off Texas Man in Truck Accident

A truck accident claimed the life of a man on Tuesday, despite the heroic efforts of fellow motorists who lifted the pickup truck off of him.

One motorist approached the vehicle and held the man's head as he called 911 for help.

Several other motorists stopped and together they were able to lift the pickup truck off of him. At which point the man was breathing approximately every 6 to 7 seconds.

The pickup truck was speeding when the driver lost control of the vehicle, jumped a median and flipped over on Calloway Cemetery Road, according to witnesses. The driver was thrown from the vehicle during impact and pinned beneath the truck.

Approximately ten motorists were involved in lifting the truck off of him. He was airlifted to Harris Fort Worth Methodist Hospital where he died soon after. Sadly, his 22nd birthday would have been next Tuesday.

Police are still investigating and trying to determine if alcohol was a factor of the crash.

Texas Man Injured in Trucking Accident with Gravel Truck

A driver is in serious condition following a trucking accident when he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed with a gravel truck.

A 2006 Dodge Infinity driven by a 39-year-old man, of Plano, was heading eastbound on Highway 64 when his car veered into oncoming traffic and struck a dump truck heading westbound, according to a report by Texas Department of Transportation.

The truck driver tried to move to the right to avoid the car but both vehicles collided. The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Rescue workers used the Jaws of Life to extract the driver of the Infinity. He was then transported to East Texas Medical Center,

The accident is currently under investigation and officials say citations will be issued against the driver of the Infinity for falling asleep behind the wheel.

Train Collides with 18-Wheeler, Driver not Injured

A Union Pacific train collided with an 18-wheel tractor trailer on Friday in a trucking accident on U.S. 90A and Harlem Road. Amazingly, the truck driver escaped injury, said police.

The train hit the 19-wheeler and split it in two, said a spokewoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, whom is currently investigating the accident. There was no derailment and no injuries. In fact the train is still drivable.

After impact, the driver of the truck got out and was shaken up but seemingly uninjured, as police on the scene did not request ambulance assistance.

At this time, it is unclear why the 18-wheeler was on the tracks when the train approached. No further details were available.
A Union Pacific spokesman said, the 148-car train was carrying grain from Beaumont to Robstown and also reported no serious injuries in the accident.

Crews were on the scene working to make sure the train didn't block roadways any longer than necessary. However, he added, railroad officials are required to download information from a locomotive's "black box" after any accident - before the locomotive can be moved.

Such information includes train speed and the number of times the horn was blown.

Man Dies in Accident with Semi-Tractor Trailer

A trucking accident involving a semi-tractor trailer and a pickup truck has claimed the life of an 80-year old man on Thursday. He was pronounced dead at 2:38pm at University Hospital in San Antonio, police said.

The man had suffered lacerations to his head and left arm as a result of the crash, which happened at the intersection of Highway 46 and Farm to Market 725 around 11:33am this morning.

Traveling west on FM 725 in a white Toyota pickup, he had tried to make a left turn onto southbound Highway 46. Before he could finish the turn, he was struck by a semi-tractor trailer that was driving northbound on Highway 46, police said.

Authorities say the semi-tractor, registered to Adams Trucking Company of Livingston, Texas, was driven by a 44-year-old man of Lufkin. The truck driver was attempting to stop the semi-tractor trailer before the accident happened. He applied his brakes but he slid into the intersection hitting the pickup up truck that was trying to make a left turn.

There were visible skid and tire marks from the semi-tractor trailer. Police do not believe the speed of the trailer is a factor in the crash.
